“When I paint, I try very hard to get out of the way and let the creative spirit take control. When that happens, at the end of painting, I know that my talent has been allowed to show itself. That’s when I feel the most appreciative of this pursuit.”

Lisa Fox Bio
Lisa’s decorative arts background led her to Leiper’s Fork in 2002. She has been the sole proprietor of the Leiper’s Creek Gallery since September 2002, and an artist for as long as she can remember. At the age of five, Lisa created massive self-portrait in red crayon on the rose-bud wallpaper of her room. Instead of scolding Lisa, her mother came up the stairs and said “Hey, that’s pretty good!”
Lisa’s art exudes confidence, energy, skill and versatility. In the past, she has painted everything from walls to furniture. Lisa’s focus now is canvas. She is involved with the Chestnut Group, plein air painters, artists who paint in the open air, capturing the beauty of rural scenery and documenting it in paint for future generations to enjoy. She is inspired by the outdoors. When she is not at the gallery, she can be seen outside, positioned at her easel, or out socializing with friends.
